In a perfect world, in a perfect time period, bullying wouldn’t
be an issue, or one so close to home for that matter. Nowadays you don’t see
the physical side of bullying,, it is more of a verbal ad cyber assault. Although
schools have cracked down on bullying they can see, they can’t stop the verbal
part. Walking down the halls of this school, you might hear some vulgar
language being exchanged, but in this day in age. Most teens talk like that
around friends so it is hard to know if they are being bullied or not. Cyber
bullying is also a big problem with all the technology we have. I haven’t been
a part of bullying in the cyber world. In the real world there is an incident
that sticks out to me. When I was in middle school I had a friend who looked a
little nerdy, he was small so people thought he was soft. One day we were
playing kickball and the eight graders started to kick his ball around. They
all laughed and didn’t stop. When he asked they started a verbal attack on him.
I saw what was going on but I didn’t want to get involved. After some time it
was still going on so I stepped up and defended him. I took the ball and gave it to him. The other guy just
laughed and started calling me names. I didn’t let it get to me though because I
honestly don’t care what he had to say. Bullies hurt people, not just
physically but mentally. If you aren’t strong, then it will hurt a lot.
