Film Festival

I feel like our June 10th film festival was incredibly successful. I feel that our films weren't even funny but according to the audience. I know now that its because we worked hard on it and seen the shots so many times for editing that it became tedious and repetitive. but i like the feedback we got.

Week of May 29th

this week, we finished our last film and we are midway into editing. we will almost be done with it. it should be done by next week.

Week of May 22nd

This week we finished our PSA. we just need the music. our script for our last film is done and we are starting on our storyboards and film.

Week of May 15

We finished our PSA. We started our new narrative idea which we should be done with before the film festival.

Week of May 8th

This week we filmed our first shots for our film and we are halfway done with it.:)

Week of May 1

This week we finished our screenplay for psa . we rare almost done with our storyboards too.

Week of April 24

This week we have completed our film, we will now start to write our PSA. It's going to begin to get written this upcoming week.

Week of April 17

This week we've finished almost every scene except for one. I thought by now we would be done with the film but after filming certain scenes wrong, we had to redo them which has taken a big chunk of our time. Ive finished my scenes so I've started to edit his week. If everything goes as planned we should be done with the film with no problem before friday of next week.

Week of April 10

This week we took a lot of shots for our film but they ended up being bad shots. We began yesterday to redo our shots and they came out really well. with all the editing i feel like we will be done with out film by next friday the latest.

Wek of April Third

This week, we as a production company finished our screenplay, storyboards, and started filming. We've got most of the shots but we need to finish filming.

Week oF March 27

I am working with Hussein, Mohammed, and Emily on a narrative. This week we have finished our screenplay and are close to finishing our storyboards.

What Music Means To Me

Music is something that I always have to be around. I love to listen to music. i always make jokes about if it wasn't for music,I would not be able to function. I mean, its obviously not true, but it does describe what music means to me. it works like an outlet for me to not be stressed. I can just relax and not worry. school is stressful enough, but with music, time seems to fly by faster. I listen to a variety of music, especially hip-hop. I also listen to alternative rock and to classical music. My parents are hispanic and they also listen to a wide range of music in spanish, and i grew to like it as i grew older. I listen to pop too. If I like the music, I will listen to it, there is no discrimination.

Problems and Solutions

Everyday people around the world go through struggles.  I cannot say I understand all of them, but I do know the major ones in my community. Most of the Bell students have parents who are separated or divorced or in the process of either. That plagues the kids because then it changes their whole perspectives on matrimonies. I know people who never want to get married or have kids so the same situation does not repeat itself. Most of the time though, kids begin to act out and do bad things because of it. I have seen how these problems they have at home come with them to school. It can even affect people around them because they could start to abuse them. Another issue with this community is that since parents have to work late to support kids, it’s easier for the teens to get into trouble. 

The Most Interesting Man I Know

The most interesting person I know would have to be my dad. He’s been through a lot n life and he always tells the best stories. I can listen to him talk for hours on end. When he grew up, the times were different, and the culture was to. Growing up in Cuba was an experience that no one could forget. The culture is so rich there that the stories of even a little kid would be interesting. He really makes me feel proud of my heritage. He also has a variety of stories, not just his but of our family over there. We are a close family so we all know each other’s stories. Sometimes when you know some one for so long, and you hear the stories, they tend to repeat, but never with my dad. Every story is a new one and that is what makes him interesting, because it adds a different perspective.

My Anti Drug

My Anti-Drug would have to be Basketball. Its an outlet for me, I can just step on the court and play. My problems don't go away, but they do seem more insignificant. I can even us my problems to fuel me. Anger is a great tool when you know how to channel it into your game. Basketball keeps me in school and motivated because I'm on the school team. I have to attend class and be a good student if i want to stay on the team. The time i dedicate to trying to improve and get better is time i'm away from doing negative activities. Music is another one of my anti- drugs. I don't listen to everything but if i don't discriminate,if i like music then ill listen to it frequently.

An Inconvenient Truth

The first couple of minutes into the movie, I thought it was going to be one of those boring documentaries that everyone had heard. After a few minutes, I could see that it was something serious. I had heard of this idea of climate change and global warming, but it didn’t hit me until he showed the stats. The world was changing at an alarming rate, with no signs of slowing down. That’s scary because it’s crazy to think that by the time I grow old, the world might not be a place to live. My kids will have to deal with that. I don’t want that to happen. I want to make the world suitable for future generations, but you cant change the world without the help of another person. The world is too big for just one person; it has to be a global effort. We need change for the better.
